This is not a glossy finish as advertised and is therefore rated 3 stars. Discs lack the label image quality of a true glossy surface. For a positive result, 50GB discs record well and have no coasters. To update; To date (04/22/2013) all discs have reproduced excellent 1080i/p picture quality. The labels ensure a satisfactory presentation with the text on a white background. Finally, I am waiting to comment on the longevity of the recorded content. Everything looks fine at the moment. I think you understand that I am very disappointed in the lack of a high quality glossy finish. No manufacturer has yet approved the glossy surface of the BD-R DL.
