I use these bits more than any other in my car. They take at least twice as long as a standard V-bit, but the end result is worth the wait. Like another reviewer, I broke the tip and had to replace the insert, but that was because I screwed up and didn't make sure the screw was tight. It gives excellent results on softwoods, hardwoods, knotty woods and even very oily exotic woods that tend to clog flutes of other drill bits. I don't cut aluminum or plastic so I can't comment on that. All in all, these are expensive beats that I think are totally worth the price. I would estimate I have about 100 hours on multiple stakes and they all still cut like they were brand new.
