Great product with some limitations

This is an amazing product when used properly. I've stamped, colored with alcohol markers and crayons, and even carved. You will need Tsukineko StazOn Ink for stamping. Most other inks require heat setting on the plastic, which is difficult with shrink plastic. The only markers that work on clear plastic are alcohol markers and they dissolve Stazon ink so you have to paint over the other side. my Prismcolors. You need to sand the plate carefully before stamping and painting. I used Wetordry with 400 grit (black material). This material shrinks really badly. See attached images for examples. The Stampendous Laurel Burch Indigo Cats stamp set was hand cut and pre-shrunk with a hole between the ears. The upper left cat is colored with alcohol markers (all kinds), the lower left - with colored pencils. The cat on the right was cut from plastic #6 (the kind that comes in salad bar boxes). It didn't shrink as much and was a bit distorted, but it's a cheap replacement if you want to practice. Tim Holtz's Crazy Cats were stamped and colored with markers. I wrote on the front of the stamp to remind me which side it was stamped on. I cut out a shape that worked great, but I don't know if this will work with all stamps or if it might damage them. I used a heat gun to shrink the plastic. This happens very quickly, although you'll need a pan to keep the plastic from blowing away. I've had a few things that didn't turn out, but most turned out great. This material scratches very easily. I want them to put a cloth between each sheet as simply pulling the sheet out and putting it back can leave a mark. This is a great product once you understand the limitations.
