I'll start by saying I wasn't interested. The diameter of the lid is almost the same as the diameter of the jar. The lid should be slightly larger in diameter for easier gripping and removal. I have similar storage jars and lids and the lids come off very easily as the lid is slightly larger. Otherwise, this storage jar is perfect for me. Airtight and it comes with a rubber piece that fits on the bottom of the jar. He keeps tapping the glass too hard on the worktop. The picture does not show the rubber part that comes with the container. October 10th. The jar broke after I dropped the lid on the container. I don't think it's tempered.
