Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good price, best solution for kitchen and dining room

My wife and I have been using this juicer regularly for a few months so we have a good idea of its capabilities. This is a good juicer for semi-regular use. We ask a lot of our juicer to do four or five liters at a time a few times a week. After about four months of regular use we have noticed that the cutter/basket is getting a bit duller so we don't get as much juice out of our product and it doesn't cut as quickly. The good news is that replacement baskets are only $12 on the Hamilton Beach website. For comparison, replacing an equivalent Breville part costs about $50. The bad news is I just ordered a pair but they weren't in stock so I'll stick with boring for now. For this reason I am giving four stars instead of five. I can change that number to three if they don't have the tailor/baskets back in stock soon. Update: The Hamilton Beach website has them in stock now. I ordered two and they were delivered quickly. Here's what we noticed while using the device: If you want to produce large quantities, you might want to consider a higher quality device. Depending on what you are cooking, you will usually need to empty the chopping basket/basket for it to remain effective after a liter or two. After that, the strainer tends to clog and you lose some juice in the pulp container. Apples, cucumbers and the like do well without cluttering up the screen, so I'll start with that. I will make the carrots last as the pulp will seal the small holes in the mesh fairly quickly. The pineapple and ginger fibers seem to get stuck in the front teeth, so I end up doing that too. The top is also slowly filling with pulp and you'll have to scrape it off to continue working after a few liters of juice. Simply open the top and pull out (make sure the motor has stopped turning before removing the top); You can do a more thorough cleaning when you're done. Again, if you're only drinking a liter or two, this shouldn't be a problem. Cleaning is pretty easy if you do it right after juicing. Most of the pulp will be washed off immediately, but the cutter/basket needs a bit of cleaning and you need to be careful as the dried pulp is very difficult to remove. Some people complain about the pulp in the juice. We really like the texture and we prefer it that way. We seem to be drinking something substantial. To be clear, it's still a lot of juice/liquid, it just has some pulp in it. We especially like to squeeze a few beetroot juices into the mix for flavor and rich red colour. We make more juice each time because we don't have the time to clean and prep fruits and veggies every day, so we keep some in the fridge for busy days. It's recommended to drink the juice right away to get the maximum nutritional value, but apparently it can be stored in the fridge for up to three days and tastes good. Anyone who produces small amounts of juice every day should do a good job with this device at a very reasonable price. Note. When I first plugged it in, I couldn't turn it on. After playing around with it for a few minutes I found that the top latches had to be secured in a very specific way or it wouldn't start. This is a safety measure to ensure it does not start when the knife/basket is opened. Now that I know what I'm doing, it starts right up every time. Make sure the top is exactly in place before sending it back as DOA.
