I am currently using a different cable (which I paid about $30 for) to connect my MacBook Pro to the dock and bought this cable to have on hand as a spare . . While of course I can't comment on the durability of this cable, it appears to be well made and performs as expected in terms of performance and data. If I had bought this cable first, I wouldn't have bought one for $30, I would have just bought another one of these. The thickness of the cable isn't that bad either. Based on what was written about him, I was expecting something akin to steel cables holding up suspension bridges, but that wasn't the case. It's just as robust as my other USB-C cable. It's now significantly stiffer than regular cables that can't handle as much charging current and/or only support USB2 data rates, but I suspect those features call for a thicker gauge. I'm not crazy about the distinctive white "CBUS" markings on the forks, but as others have mentioned, it's not hard to just flip it over so it's down. last observation. I used this cable to connect two MacBook Pros directly to transfer data from one to the other using Migration Assistant. During this process, Migration Assistant showed the connection as "Thunderbolt", so I assume this cable can also be used as a Thunderbolt cable? Maybe it's something like "well yes of course it can" since I'm new to this type of cable. I know that TB3 uses the same type of connector as USB-C, but that doesn't mean that a cable with this connector is automatically suitable for TB3. It seems so, although it is not mentioned in the description.
