This arrived very well packaged and intact - but this thing is HEAVY so make sure it is delivered to your home and not a PO Box becomes. unless you are a flat platform weight lifter. Took me about four hours to put it together, but I'm a big guy and have done stuff like this before, so take a weekend off before digging into this project. I would recommend using a construction stapler instead of support nails to speed up the process and increase durability. Also attach the legs first, after you put the backing on - this way you can line up the backing with the floor without worrying about overlapping. Place all three backing panels in place at once and secure with painters tape before tacking them together and it should come out nice. Another really useful tool is if you have a drill/screwdriver, use it to drive eight long screws into the base and secure the finished piece to the wall. One thing to note, the shelves are solid wood but shorter than you think. They do not touch the back of the case. So if you plan to put photos flat on shelves, they could fall off. I set this up for DVD only and got five and a half shelves per speaker. So if you set the shelf spacing at the top and work your way down, you end up with an odd gap at the top instead of the bottom. I've used the bottom space to store DVDs that didn't have original sleeves and were instead in jewel cases, as well as DVDs I've purchased from Red Box over the years. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. It looks like it will last at least 10 years so I would say it's worth the money. Oh, it takes up a lot of space, so don't go black or your room will be noticeably darker. I can recommend mocha.
