Review on πŸ•“ Enhance Performance: GE WR9X489 Refrigerator Defrost Control Timer by Jorge Kumar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An exact copy of the original. Two screws, one dowel and you're done.

When I heard the terrible news that our fridge was getting warmer, the first thing I thought of was the defrost timer, which in my experience often fails. In contrast to the past, this is mounted in the fridge next to the lamp and not under the fridge as usual, where it is exposed to heat and dust. It turned out that the timer is working and the defrost heaters are broken. Having saved at least $35 buying it from Revain, I'm glad I have it as a spare. Eventually I'll probably need it. Got a new one and kept the original as a spare. That works fine. A simple DIY project. Takes about 5 minutes and saves a lot of money during a service call. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver. If you've never done this before, you should probably unplug your fridge while you change the timer.
