Review on 🌈 Equinox Parula Ultralite Assorted Color: Lightweight and Vibrant Outdoor Essential by Denise Woodcock

Great for day trips and summit packs

This is what I was looking for in a day/peak pack. Absolutely big enough to hold a full range of goods if you drop your tent and sleeping gear. Water bottle holders on each side comfortably hold my 32 ounces. Nalgene bladders and a hood pocket provide easy access to small items. Absolutely comfortable in every way. I removed the waist belt. Not needed for my use. The mesh backing wraps easily around my shirt or jacket, eliminating the need to attach the backpack with a waist belt. Sure, I wish it had a sternum strap, but the daisy-like loops that run across both shoulder straps make this little thing a no-brainer. I loaded the pack with a 10L dry bag to protect it from the rain, but was surprised that the material it's made of repels water well (it rained like crazy yesterday). On the day I've used it so far (yesterday) it's been to die for. As an aside, although not advertised, the pack conveniently stows in a hooded pocket (simply flip the pocket, tuck it in, and then zip the now inside-out) for compact storage in your large backpack. It loses a star for not having a chest strap (C'mon, Equinox - chest straps are a must. I'll live with the extra 1/2 ounce. Oh, the waist strap can become a chest strap. FYI.).

Pros
  • Everyday packs
Cons
  • No insurance
