Powerful sound, small form factor = price
I have two SVS subwoofers in my living room/HT setup. When I was building my desktop/music system I wanted something small but with good low frequency extension. I was TOTALLY willing to return this subwoofer if I didn't like it, but I LOVE IT. The box does not vibrate at all and the sound is BIG.
