Very simple and inexpensive retrofit; in general, definitely nice, especially the ability to choose the "temperature" of the light. The only problem I had was that these lights didn't reach our metal canisters; the tension in the metal walls inside pushed them back about an inch so they weren't flush with the ceiling and looked awful. The solution was to bend the inner metal pins inwards very slightly so that their overall diameter was slightly smaller. These metal pins are pretty thick so I needed pliers and some serious elbow grease, but when I did they pressed into the canisters nicely. (They are adjustable from 5 to 6 inches in diameter, but I only needed about an eighth of an inch less than 6 inches). I agree it's a little weird, but I don't understand why people get upset about this. Mindfulness meditation can help people with this temperament.
