Very simple and inexpensive retrofit; in general, definitely nice, especially the ability to choose the "temperature" of the light. The only problem I had was that these lights didn't reach our metal canisters; the tension in the metal walls inside pushed them back about an inch so they weren't flush with the ceiling and looked awful. I have decided to change the color temperature of the ceiling lights that I have. It was nice that they let me choose between 4000K and 5000K as I wasn't sure which one I wanted. The 6500K setting seems more suited to retail or industrial setups, but it's really nice to have the choice. In general, they are very beneficial. A few things to improve: 1. If you already have the correct pot lights installed these LED bulbs are easy to install. My current pot lights have a "stepped" and tapered interior (see photo - black arrow indicates "steps" in my pot lights) and the springs that come with these replacement LED lights snap in very tightly. If the inside of your existing pot lights is curved and smooth, this can be a problem during installation - every situation is different. UPDATE: I've had them installed for a couple of weeks and am still very happy. I recently added a Lutron Caseta Smart Dimmer to control six of these lights in my kitchen. I'm happy to report that these bulbs work great - no hum, buzz or flicker. Ideal. Lutron Caseta has a list of bulbs approved for use with Caseta and they are not on the list but I can confirm they work great in my case.
