I really wanted to love these headlights, but.

This review is for a 5/6" dimmable LED downlight with selectable CCT. PRO: 1) Choice of color temperature! This is an LED feature that is becoming more available now (late 2020) and at lower prices than ever before. Having this feature in the asking price is a huge plus (currently $50-$60 for a 12-pack) 2) Adaptable to different types of cans. The lights come with metal fenders fitted but also include spring clips. CONS: 1) Customization, just mentioned as a PRO, is quickly becoming a CON for those who, like me, need a spring clip installation method. As another reviewer mentioned, the screws that come with it are very cheap and small. Simply replacing the metal wings with springs can break this screw, making installation much more difficult. Also, you want the screw to be tight because the springs have STRONG tension (too much) and if the screw doesn't hold them tight, they will slip or break. As another reviewer said, metal wings are sharp, and when those little screws are so difficult to manipulate that it takes more force to tighten and loosen them, it increases the chances of slipping your hand and cutting yourself. Since each flashlight comes with the metal fenders installed, that means you don't have to worry about that headache. Well, the neck screw switches 24 times for 12 bulbs. 2) The lamps stay on for a very long time if you left them on a low brightness level last time. When I tested the dimming efficiency at the 4000K temperature setting, the light only dimmed at minimum dimming. However, at 3000k it remains faintly visible. 3) The color adjustment switch on the back is all black and requires very close attention to see what you are doing. Once it's on the mount and you want to make changes, it's hard to know which is which. 4) The color range settings are a bit strange. 2700 - soft, warm or yellow as desired. The 3000 is still warm but noticeably less warm, which is good. 4000 is noticeably colder, which is also a good thing. But 5000 isn't much different than 4000, just a bit cooler. Then comes 6000, which is very blue. Since I was most interested in the 3000 to 5000 range for our purposes, I was disappointed to see that there was basically only one color choice in this range as 4000 and 5000 are so similar in color. 5) The output power in lumens seems to be an invention of the manufacturer. Even at full power, these aren't very bright lights. The overall quality does not inspire optimism. The bulbs have a great feature - selectable color temperature - and are well priced, so I'm (too) excited and bought three packs of 12. I don't know how much I can damage (or how much I can damage myself!) during installation. Not sure how long they will last. All in all, I'll probably be returning two of the three 12-packs I bought before a full install brings more problems. Unfortunately, this is not a well-executed peace of mind product that I can be sure of.
