I like the look and feel of these ties. However, the installation method is not positive. The system works by tightening two screws, each passing through a large rubber block. The tightening action causes the rubber block to bend and flex, putting pressure on the mailbox that should hold it in place. The process does not pull the device down to the surface of the truck, so there is some clearance underneath. Once installed, any lateral or upward pressure can cause the hold downs to fail. Haven't had an actual weight to tie yet, but obviously the tie-down system is weak. I later found a similar device at Cabelas which I feel is a more secure fit. Overall: Very good looking and functional when locking and pulling out for use, but very weak attachment system.
