I used to work a lot in IT and have a lot of experience from networks to cabling. I used better tools then, but when I left IT, I didn't have many tools. So when I needed to move an Ethernet cable around my house, I bought it as an inexpensive replacement for the tools I used to have. The crimmer seemed to be a bit off and I had to re-crimp the RJ45 connectors a few times to get it in, although I used some of the old connectors I had and not the ones that came with the kit. The stripping and punching tools were good enough, part of the setup involved making a few connections to the wall outlets and although I had to redo it a few times due to cutting wires in the wrong places, this could partly have been user error be and not the tool. However, I had to revert to some flush shears where the perforator blade didn't cut through the strands. Although the network tester is quite basic, it was able to help me track down some problems both in the connection cables (the crimping problems mentioned above) and in longer sections inside the wall. If I were going back to IT and network setups this wouldn't be the kit I would buy but for setting up some wired connections at home it was $20 well spent.
