I bought this to sprinkle on fresh sprouts on my Bourke's parrots during breeding to prevent egg binding and to mix a little into my hand feed chick mix. Don't give it daily and don't overdo it. Yes, these are dirty people - this is a very fine powder. The consistency is similar to powdered sugar. This does not mean that there is anything wrong with the product. However. I had one chick with legs spread because the hen sat too hard on him for the first 5 days of her life and put pine shavings under her so the chick couldn't grab the bottom of the nest box to get up. I have used the makeup sponge trick and this powder in the Roudybush 3 Bird Food, 2lb formula and it was as normal as can be after 3 weeks of "treatment". The amount of calcium powder for the price is excellent value for money. This will stay with me for a very, very long time!
