Review on ๐Ÿ’ก Schumacher โ€ŽPI-140 Analog Power Inverter: Reliable 140W Car Inverter with AC & USB Power Ports by Adam Browning

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Has limitations, some of which are unacceptable

Good: Compact No switch Moderately quiet fan Bad: Standby current consumption 230mA, slightly higher as the fan runs up to 5V, meaning it's on battery power better keep an eye on it or it will destroy your battery. Output proportional to input, zero regulation. At 12V input I get about 110V output, at 14.3V (which my machine measures) I get close to 140V. This inverter will work for AC devices that use a SMPS or equivalent power supply, but forget about this at any linear power accessory, it will fry your electronics. The USB output is only 500mA, which is not very useful in today's world. As far as I can tell the fan is connected directly to the input and does not contain any associated circuitry. This is most likely a 12v option that will burn out over time if used on a chassis approaching 15v. It didn't work for my application, others may have had better luck.
