I bought these for snowboarding. I fractured my coccyx and sacrum and just can't do without a filling. They fit perfectly. They look like stretchy biker shorts with foam pockets. The foam is removable. I pulled it out of my hip pad. I hope to double the coccyx padding. The foam is only about 1/2 inch thick and appears to be plain foam. I love that the padding is over the tailbone to protect my sacrum. They fit easily under my snowboard pants. And they're comfortable too. I can move around in it easily. I don't feel restricted at all. I bought a small size. I'm 27 in the waist and 38 in the hips. They fit perfectly and are likely to be tight on space since they are stretchy. I bought a pair of Burton Red protectors but had to return them - they had lots of thigh padding and almost no tailbone protection. Not to mention they don't fit under my pants. These pads could not be removed either. And there were at least twice as many! I'll update them after they've experimented a bit on the slopes. UPDATE 1.15.15 I have walked uphill with them twice now. Oh my poor bum. While this definitely helped (no breaks!), I think personally I could have used more indentation. The soft spots bruised easily while the gap areas had the most bruising I've ever had. If I had only crashed a few times it would have been better, but I pushed myself and made it worse. I think these shorts are perfect for someone who might fall a few times but not for someone who falls on hard surfaces all day. What I love most about these shorts is that you can remove the padding and how they fit! Now if only I could add a little more in a few places!
