A bit fiddly

I often work from home and want a great setup for video conferencing. For me, that means a green screen with great lighting. Unfortunately, my new employer uses video conferencing software (WebEx) that doesn't natively support color keys. This presented a problem: how can I achieve a chroma key effect like Zoom's without installing additional software on my work computer? Answers? Use OBS on another computer and create a premium video conferencing setup. This is where things got complicated, although the device worked with Google Hangouts and a random invocation of the Zoom client in any resolution, WebEx showed the device as present, but it just showed a gray screen. I've tried different resolutions and occasionally managed to get it to work, but most of the time it was a gray screen. Finally, in a fit of frustration, I settled on a USB-C to USB-A cable and just plugged the device into the USB2 bus and now it's working fine. I don't do 4k recording and USB2 offers enough bandwidth for HD webcams, so it works, but I can't help but feel that the box is a bit rough on USB-C/USB3. shown how it had to be connected directly to my MacBook Pro via USB-C, when I tried to connect it to the USB-C port on my Thunderbolt Dock I ended up having to unplug all USB-C devices. before or other USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 devices worked again. So does the device work? Yes. Does it record 4k? I do not know. Right now I only go up to 1920x1080. Can I use it to do great things with OBS for my video conferencing? Yes. Was it unnecessarily frustrating? Yes. I have a hunch this thing will continue to disappoint. For my HDMI camera input, I just choose Elgato Cam Link instead.
