I bought the old version and when the new one came out with the updated power button I decided to give it a try. First, the typing is excellent. I would say it's better than the magic keyboard I have too. I like the fact that the keys are more clicky (if that's even a word) and the feedback is really good. I also like that autocorrect works on this particular keyboard so there are no compatibility issues. I also like keyboard shortcuts that aren't on the magic keyboard. It really makes navigating the iPad a lot easier. There are buttons for the most commonly used functions. The USB ports work well and I haven't had any problems with SSDs or flash drives - they sync well and I can read files into them. I use one of these for a USB mouse which I prefer over bluetooth mice and it works great. The HDMI port works fine too and I haven't had any issues with it. What I like most is that the keyboard is detachable and the case itself is solid and protective. However, I wish there was an option for some type of cover. Defects? I wish there was some kind of kickstand on the back so the iPad could stand up for typing in case mode, or stand at an elevated angle (you won't always be typing from the keyboard). Also, the side of the connector is a bit thick, which is inconvenient when typing in portrait mode. On the other hand, it's actually better to hold, so I think it's flattening out a bit. Overall, this keyboard is a great companion for anyone who owns an iPad and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to boost the performance of their device.
