Hunter ceiling fan no longer works. conforms to uF specifications. TOOLS: - Wire cutters/wire strippers - Caps (16 gauge) (up to 5) STEPS: (After the original capacitor is exposed) 1. Make sure the power is off. (I just made sure the wall switch was off. You can consider the electrical panel DANGEROUS unless you know it's 100% off.) 2. Cut 3 wires on the fan (from the cord switch to the old one capacitor) and Unscrew the cap for 2 wires from the motor.3. Stripped 1/4 inch cut wires on pull switch.3. I cut/unscrewed the assembled wires and screwed them into a new screw cap capacitor. Turn on the wall switch to see if the fan spins. All speeds checked with a string. After the test, turn the wall switch back to the OFF position.5. Place a new capacitor in the fan housing.6. All covers screwed / lamp exchanged (if necessary) .7. Turn on the wall switch to make sure everything is ok.8. I watched and smelled the smoke. No? are you ok
