Good materials, good workmanship and perfect fit. . . works for me

If you've ever felt like me that wearing something harder or spiky than fluffy blankets or beach balls could cause costly damage to your Cayenne, this system is worth checking out. It covers the floor, side and rear seat backs with a very effective quilting material. Half the wonder is in the quality of the product and the other half (in my opinion) is that such a product even exists. My Cayenne has a somewhat custom light umber and tartufo on the inside - it's brown and tan in non-Porsche parlance and I thought the beige option offered here was too light to match. So I ordered black and was happy to see that it was quilted with tan yarn which goes well with my upholstery. The material itself is cool too; Grainy vinyl with a foam backing that has a nice pebble texture on the back. The diamond stitching is very reminiscent of a Bentley (before everyone else did) and can actually make a solid seat base out of this material. This is just beginning use, but I'm pretty optimistic about durability. A knife blade can really scratch vinyl without leaving a mark. I'm sure it can be cut with a very sharp edge, but it doesn't look like lugging panniers or off-road gear (my main concern) will do any harm. And the surface does not attract dirt and stains; looks really easy to keep clean for a long time. In addition, the bezel is strong and attractive. Overall, the construction of the pieces and the meticulousness of their tailoring is impressive, with less than a dozen protruding threads that are easy to manage. Now a few words about the quality of the fit, which is extremely high. . Far from being universal, this kit is made specifically for the 958 Cayenne. At first glance, part of the floor appears to be a few inches long (obviously keep clear of the tailgate's latch hole), but then you realize this has been done perfectly to allow the second-row seats to move back and forth can, and so on. At first glance, the additional material seems to be well hidden behind the seat backs. And the two side panels aren't just flat; Additional material is sewn into them, which corresponds exactly to the shape of the Cayenne panels. The Cayenne Gen II has a significantly higher plastic surround on the rear seat backrests. The three pieces of backrest that were sent to me are the perfect size to cover the carpet but don't reach the plastic. This isn't a disadvantage as I don't think it would look good if the parts were pushed further out, but it does mean you can get scratches on the plastic. And the plastic coating would not be compatible with it. The strongest benefit of the product: They are incredibly easy to install. Because the Velcro on the back of the product is ideal for grabbing directly on the carpet in the luggage compartment. There is no need (as I feared) to attach anything to the vehicle itself. Each side and back of the kit has numerous Velcro fasteners sewn securely into the back of each piece, and all it takes to "install" is to position the piece and press down on the edges. (It seems best to first lay out a floor mat just for gravity.) The pieces attach securely and stay attached. However, they can be removed simply by gently pulling on the edges to release the side cover and backrest mat. It takes a few minutes at most to install or remove the entire kit, although it may take a little longer if you focus on aligning every seam and cutout exactly where you want it. There is one piece of advice worth keeping. . . If you have any doubts about ordering the best version, it's probably worth contacting a very helpful seller and providing all the details of your car to know exactly what to order. Searching for Revain doesn't show everything the seller has. In my situation, I was more than willing to get an item off the Revain list for "Cayenne with power." But after seeing a photo of the rear driver's side area, the seller pointed out that I would be better off going with the version they had with the air intake grille cutout that the 958s have instead of the grille when they have the air-conditioned 4 option...which didn't show up as an option on my Revain lists. So instead of "fucking custom" I have "surprisingly custom" with a hole for a 4-zone intake grille. Be sure to order a few weeks before you need them. Which seems very reasonable for a fully custom product, the listing states that the product will take several weeks to ship. (Mine actually arrived much sooner than expected.) A final point is that the mat set strikes me as very reasonably priced. It costs about as much as what Porsche charges for four plastic center caps or a pair of key fob bezels, so from the Cayenne's perspective it's a steal. And the whole set doesn't cost much more than a Porsche carpet or rubber floor mats in the trunk. Equally impressive is that there is a range of carpets at all. No one expects manufacturers to be bespoke for the Porsche Cayenne, but they are amazing not only because they can be used for the Cayenne, but also because they are perfectly engineered for the Cayenne (and with a lot of customization too). I think it's something remarkable. In short, if you have a reason - be it dogs, luggage, garden plants, outdoor gear or whatever - your Cayenne needs cargo area protection, I wholeheartedly recommend these custom parts. They appear well made and sturdy and are very easy to put on and take off. A lot of them are impressive and I don't see any flaws in them.
