I recently bought a new 55 inch TV and to my great surprise the mounting holes for the TV were on the BOTTOM half of the TV. This meant that the area of the wall where I originally planned to mount the TV was 6 inches higher. Also, the mounting kit I bought included a bracket that was not centered on the TV. For some reason the holes were a few inches away from the existing holes on the TV. Basically, I had a TV that was off-center and too high on my wall. I bought this mount as a last resort and it worked great! Not only did it center over the holes on the back of the TV, it even allowed me to lift it up a couple of inches to attach to the crossbar I had previously installed behind the drywall. It's very thin but very strong and the TV sits exactly where I wanted it to be. It's pretty solid and so low you can't even tell it's there. It even included a lot of gear that I ended up using. Do yourself a favor and if you're having trouble with the placement of the holes and/or brackets that come with most kits, try this and see if that solves your problem.
