A few months ago I was driving on the freeway at about 75 miles per hour. As I crossed the hill, a stalled car parked in the middle of the freeway. The lady behind the rear bumper waves people to the right so they don't hit her. A child was sitting in the back seat of the car. I slowed down, rolled past her, rolled down the window and yelled at her to get her and her child off the road onto a wide grassy path because she was in danger.” .I have a child of my own and this is him Start of thought: THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ME! A few weeks later, I was driving down a country road when I came across a commercial truck that had stopped at some kind of stop sign. -- behind the truck the driver set up a series of triangles like the ones pictured here --- WOW, they were bright and very visible. As I approached the broken car and remembered that when I was a child my father had a set of triangles similar to those on a truck, I immediately understood the solution to my problem and how much smarter than I my father really was. I was on the lookout for signal triangles, street lights, etc. on Revain until I stumbled across this set, which adorns a set that belonged to my dad a long time ago (I'm sure he still has his set somewhere). I have an SUV and it fits in one of the floorboard compartments along with my jack and other repair items (grandfather gave me). can keep an appearance of "cool" but still have everything I need to get me to work when Triple A's aren't answering the phone. I bought them. the bottom is sand filled I believe and sealed, the sand doesn't spill out) Cons: - The box on my dad's kit had stronger latches on the box. The flimsy latches on the box don't really matter, it's not something you'll pull out on a regular basis. This is what you pull out in an accident free situation where you have to stand in the middle of the road with your car and loved ones in it. It has instructions on how to use them. All in all I think this is a must for any responsible driver. When I was younger I didn't drive anything in my car and now I'm going to my father and grandfather (who had even more stuff than my father)- --aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah those old men were very wise. Then I should have paid a lot more attention to them. If you are a professional trucker who stops and uses them frequently, be aware that the box most likely will not support routine use. (The latches will likely break) and the triangles themselves can now withstand the rigors of regular use. But hey, I could be wrong. For the average motorist, they are ideal.
