Review on Nortel 1120E IP Telephone by Dana Martin

Revainrating 3 out of 5

These phones have a limited lifespan

Like everything I think but we only see 5 years max from these phones. It's okay, but they originally cost over $350, so I would have liked a little more life. The display turns off, although it is still lit, and the voicemail and/or Bluetooth indicators light up. A high-pitched but faint screeching can also be heard. I won't go into too much detail about the features or functions of this phone as most buyers of this IP phone are already familiar with it and can customize their environment. Just to clarify, the model I received from the VOX BOX seller was NTYS03BFGS. The firmware version was 0624C7M. The model I received has English labels instead of symbols. Some phones use symbols on buttons that are not easy for most people to recognize. Some of them also come with power adapters, but this one doesn't. I was just reading about the power supply for this phone. This is a small circuit board inside the phone. Capacitors on it fail. Avaya sells a 96-board kit for around $650. You cannot order boards individually, except from a third party. Or you can replace the capacitors individually, although I didn't do that. Avaya also offers a new phone credit when you return a defective phone.
