Found this speaker while browsing Oluv Gadget reviews on YouTube, but not directly. I originally bought the Marshall Stockwell II based on these reviews. I was really impressed with it. Such a small and surprisingly good sounding speaker. The only thing I didn't like about Stockwell was that it wasn't good enough. at 80 dB max. output power, I just wanted more volume. You might be thinking at this point, "okay, this review is about a speaker named Ralis, so what's up with the guy?" ok, ok, I hear you. :) It turns out that Stockwell (the most amazing portable bluetooth speaker I've ever heard) is made by Zound Industries and the Ralis is very similar to the big brother Marshall Stockwell II with no tone controls. great sound that blew my mind with the Stockwell II. Of course, in an imperfect world, perfection never exists. There are some tradeoffs. This speaker is bigger and heavier because it has larger drivers. This is the price you pay for the sound you play. If you're looking for portability, get the Stockwell II. Dynamics, balance and overall fidelity are amazing. The unit has real bass response, no muddy or clipped mid-bass. It has a detailed, smooth response, if not a little overdone. Blumlein's stunning 3D effect is similar to the Carver holographic stereo effect once used in premium audio components. This makes this speaker something more than just a flat mono "box" sound. ;) If I were honest and not just a fan of this device, I would have to mention that sound processing that creates a multidirectional effect (Blumlein technique) is sometimes detrimental to certain music recordings. Ralis does not support APTX or any HD codec. The Ralis doesn't have the bass and treble controls of the Stockell II, but it sounds so good it doesn't really matter. Although this speaker is louder than the standard speaker due to its larger drivers, I would like it to work a little harder as the Bluetooth on almost all my devices is quieter than any other source I use to power my audio components. I turn up the Bluetooth sound a bit higher via the app in order to control all my Bluetooth receivers more optimally. If you're looking for an insanely loud party speaker, this isn't it. The Ralis is loud enough but not loud enough to dance to. If you're looking for a great sounding speaker to use by the pool or at the beach and you want great sound that you'll really enjoy, get this one. And as it turns out, this speaker is cheaper than the stock speaker it replaced. Now I see Ralis at 129 for about 70 less than what I paid. When you see this guy for sale, GET IT. Do not bother. Buy it.
