My daughter bought me a pair of these shoes for the holidays in December 2013 because I have had the same shoes for a number of years and have found them so comfortable in the past. However, these shoes were not the same brand and style as the shoes I have worn in the past. I wear a medium size 8-1/2 and this time the shoe is too loose in the heel and doesn't hold my foot securely. Worst of all, no "breaking in" contributed to the comfort of the shoe as the leather is too stiff and the sole is rock hard without the softness and flexibility I have enjoyed so much in my previous pairs. There is plenty of toe room but the sizing felt out of place and was perfect for walking. Either the manufacturer has switched to cheaper materials or they are very inconsistent in their production, which seems obvious from the many reviews I've read about this shoe. I will never buy these shoes again.
