I bought this collar for our second dog. I plugged it in and started using it. Our dog did not respond to the collar. I spoke to our dog trainer, she found out that he was not getting any signal from the remote control. We both tried to fix the collar but it still doesn't work. I have a $150 e-collar that isn't working. Since the first collar and remote worked perfectly, I figured I would be on the safe side with this collar. So yes, the box is long gone. The collar lights up, charges, but does NOT work. It blinks quickly when pairing starts, stops blinking quickly when you press the two orange buttons together (meaning it's paired), but nothing happens when you press a button.
