I compared many different ring lights before purchasing this light. Because I wanted one that had normal natural/white light AND the suggested colors, all reasonably bright and adjustable, had a decent sized ring, had at least a solid tripod that extended to a good height and to my limited Budget fit! And this ring light seemed to offer, or almost have, all of those things. (*see my photo) I didn't know if I needed a slightly larger ring, but the price tags on bearing rings put me off. Actually! This 12.6-inch is a decent size, less bulky, and puts out quite a bit of light for its size. Normal light and colors have good brightness, the different modes/settings are nice and also have so many adjustable intensity/brightness levels - although I wish there was an option - to dim the light further - because even at the lowest brightness sometimes there is too much light for what I'm doing (so I have to drape the ring with a thin layer of fabric). The smaller tripod is cheap non-adjustable plastic, but the main tripod on the larger one is well made, durable, extendable to a great height / quite high / tall, and they can be stored / stored in a cheap plastic bag. comes in a nice "sleeve" to keep it inside BUT you need to protect the ring with more than just the flimsy foam sleeve it comes in! - The heavier tripod rests directly on the ring, which could get damaged or broken during transport or even just putting it away in the box. I think a flexible cell phone holder that fits in the middle of the ring is ok. I think it should have included an adjustable phone and/or tablet holder to attach it to a tripod, or at least suggested selling it as an "add-on". I don't like that you CANNOT adjust the position of the ring as there have been times I've had to flip the ring down which it can't. :( Also, attaching the ring to the tripod isn't very convenient: the metal grub screw on the top of the tripod that you screw the ring onto has an unreinforced plastic hole. You have to be careful to keep it straight, attach/detach ( plus not twisting) and/or do not push or hit the ring as the plastic of the hole/ring will not crack/break, damage or break the light ring! You need an easier and more reliable way of mounting/attachment. I don't have a shutter release remote Tried it out and probably won't use them.I've tried both the ring mounted controls and the wireless remote and they work well BUT like the other reviewer I had an issue with the remote battery - THE BATTERY WAS DOWN on arrival and I had to find and spend more money to buy a new battery!{WARMQ check the batteries before using this product ver send, or add extra} This is not a post Comes with a power adapter/USB charger BUT I don't actually need to be on! .I won't be using my laptop or anything to turn on this light - plugging in an outlet is much more convenient and safer. And for the price, there should be a USB power adapter, a working battery, an extra mount, etc.! Yes, it wasn't the most expensive, nor was it the cheapest, but for what it is, offering the $45 I paid, it's still a little pricey (around $36 would be more reasonable. All in all, a good ring light The one needs some tweaks and additions but still works pretty well and pretty cool B+ :)
