The first one I received took some effort to get started but was decent for about an hour, it worked until the battery was discharged. . I tried running it again the next day but I couldn't get it to do anything. No light, no answer. I tried calling support but the phone said it was after hours even though I called midday on a weekday. The internet chat replied and immediately told me to return it without trying to fix the error step by step. I got the impression that they did a lot of it. Revane sent me a replacement quickly. The replacement was DOA. The power button lights up when plugged in, but the charging indicator does not. The camera would not turn on. I suspect the battery is not connected internally. I tried calling Flir customer service but the system hung up before I could reach a representative. I called back and the system said it would hold me in line if I hung up and waited for a call back. They didn't call back, so I called again. This time Revain sent a refund instead of a replacement. Not sure if it was because there were too many returns or because they ran out. I used the camera with the Galaxy S7. The camera didn't come with a user manual, just a QR code with a link to an app that Google didn't want me to install through a web browser. I couldn't find any detailed instructions in the app either, but I did eventually find a "quick start guide" buried and hidden. is to fix a bad batch of factory defects with a maybe something works mentality. It saddens me that a company puts the burden of a bad product on customers and their trading partners instead of testing it in the factory. Flir has damaged her reputation. I expect more from an established brand and my poor experience with this "professional" hobbyist product will negatively impact my recommendations over true professional flirting products.
