Review on Premium Memory Foam Replacement Ear Pads for Bose SoundTrue and QuietComfort 35/ QC35 ii Around-Ear Headphones - Dark Grey by Adam Taylor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Hardly distinguishable from the original

I use about one set of these earpads a year so thought it might be worth trying a much cheaper "compatible" part. So far, the seals themselves can hardly be distinguished from branded seals. If there weren't a few internal spots where the foam is visible I wouldn't be able to tell them apart and it's just a difference in color. You can't see it after they're installed, and you certainly can't feel it. In addition, just like the original product, they are difficult to install. There is a slightly more noticeable difference - these are the internal "dust nets". They're not as well formed as the Bose equivalent, so getting them to lie flat in place is a bit difficult. It doesn't really matter and if it affects the sound quality at all I'm not audiophile enough to notice. I'm not complaining about the significant price difference. Also, I didn't have any installation instructions. It doesn't matter if you've done it before, of course, but Bose's official procedure has you pulling things harder than I'd be willing to do with expensive headphones if I didn't know for sure I was right. Not to mention peeling off adhesive mounted canvases which I would have assumed would be permanent if I didn't know better. While not difficult, it can be nice to have some installation instructions in the package. I'm not complaining about the significant price difference.
