When you receive this item you will find that it is thin. There is some flexibility. IT IS OK. Once you put this to the back Screwing your item and nailing it to the wall is very secure.I got the longest version for the apartment.I made two headboards and both were quite heavy and long.One weighed about 50 pounds the other about 60-70 pounds. I wanted to make sure that something like that wouldn't come off the wall. But I also didn't want to put a bunch of screws in the studs like you would with normal French boards. Or use wall anchors for that way. These products do their job well. I screw these in the top of the headboard and in the middle. The headboard is 60" long and 35" wide if I remember correctly. I was wondering if the headboard would wobble if someone lay down because of the hanger was above. It's not like this. oes move either left or right. You have to lift and slide it to move it, so you don't have to wonder if your child can put it down. This is a good product.
