Review on πŸ’» Black WD My Book 4TB Desktop External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 - WDBFJK0040HBK-NESN by Tim Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Why are the files read-only? Why hang on to a good file? Why does the return cost me more?

Got this to download my files from my 2TB hard drive. So, like all my other hard drives, I started migrating my files. I have about 1.25 TB and it wouldn't let me copy any more files to it. When I checked the properties, all files passed were read-only. So I moved them back to my hard drive and formatted My Book to NTFS. It took me a whole day to finish the formatting. In the meantime I also formatted my old hard drive. After formatting I thought I'd try again before sending it back. When I went to the WD website and downloaded all the downloads for this drive, I put them on the drive as I received it. Started transferring files again and it just got stuck on a couple of video files which seemed weird because everything was fine from the start. I don't know why some files didn't transfer and got stuck. So I moved them back to my 2TB hard drive and sent the drive back for a refund. Which cost me $13.55 with the form they sent me. It only cost me $5 to get it in the mail so what's the difference? Big Divorce. This is the only hard drive I had problems with a few years ago, before NTFS you had to have different folders to store files and I don't know if this drive is a problem or not. But I didn't have a big folder, I had separate ones. I actually went to Walmart to have the same drive plugged into my computer and it came out like the files weren't read only.
