My daughter wears them for riding. She likes that they don't heat her hands and work well. The main problem is that they get quite dirty and cleaning makes the skin tough. We have one of her second pair - the first broke in less than a year (although she wears them three times a week riding) because I tried to throw them in the washing machine and the leather didn't come out well. I've used the new pair to clean with saddle soap and leather conditioner and while still not as good as new it's a lot better than other washing methods I've tried. I'm sure we'll have a third pair soon.
