I really, really wanted to use this for Halloween. This projector offers excellent value for money for a short throw projector compared to other devices on the market. Unfortunately, this also seems to be a "you get what you pay for" case. Either I'm stuck in a malfunction (the bulb lit up as soon as it was turned on) and/or the technology is just very poor quality - unlike the regular projectors I've bought in the last 2 years, there is NONE Options . for USB sticks or SD cards. HDMI and VGA are the main options alongside powered USB like the Firestick (I haven't tried). I've tried using a portable media player with an HDMI input - I bought it specifically for this projector, which also annoys me at the moment. It absolutely should have worked. Unfortunately, the projector's input detection was unreliable and sporadic - changing the HDMI cable worked for a minute, then the new one didn't work either. So the compatibility is annoying or the device was defective. As for the output, I tried connecting a bluetooth transmitter to connect a bluetooth speaker. Also worked for a short minute until this worked. Turning the device off and on, disconnecting and reconnecting cables had intermittent success. Just a complete failure. I'm looking forward to trying again, but since it's hard to tell if many of the issues are due to compatibility or just a faulty device, I'm sticking with the classic "long throw" setup for a couple of years, until I can I am sure of the reliability. Damn.
