First the watch itself. Its smooth tones are controlled by a highly regarded volume knob which works reasonably well. I have very good hearing and am very sensitive to noise and have turned off my watch's chime on more than one occasion because it woke me up at night. This watch is different. With the volume control, I can adjust it so that I am not disturbed. I often hear him knocking softly in the distance. Not loud enough to wake me up, but loud enough to gently remind me when to fall asleep and wake up naturally. There are four melody settings for the melody: Hail Mary, Westminster, Westminster 4x4 (every quarter of an hour), and something called Bim Bam. We prefer either Ave Maria or Westminster. We've had this watch for about eight months now and not once has I been bothered by its melodious bong. If I ever get tired of it, there are settings that either turn off the beeper completely or turn it off from 11:00 p.m. to 5:45 a.m. With volume control, you can also place the clock in the family or in the living room without disturbing your TV or entertainment. This classic-style clock with a mahogany finish looks as good as it sounds. Some have it on a bookshelf, some on a mantel. There are no cords here, and its medium size means you can place it almost anywhere without being obtrusive. Although it doesn't have a second hand, which would be nice, we can live without it. My only criticism of this product is the cheap back panel which blocks access to the controls. With such a beautiful watch, such a cheap plastic cover on the back spoils the whole aesthetic. This annoyance isn't enough to deduct a review star, but enough to be a major disappointment, and an unnecessary one at that. Even if it costs a little more, I don't think many consumers would mind paying extra for a small wooden revolving door instead of a black plastic square with a tongue on it. A hinged plastic door would also be better. My whole family loves this watch. I have seven brothers and sisters with families of their own. One of my brothers found this watch and gave it to my mother for her birthday in September 2019. He bought the same for himself. When I visited her, I also fell in love with her soft tones. Called and asked my brother where he got them from and then bought them for himself. As Christmas approached, my mom and I thought it would be fun to give everyone in the family a watch like this. We are together every time he fucks. Hours may vary, but we'll know everyone else hears at least one call no matter where they are. My brother is in Japan, my brother is in New York, my brother is in Boston, my sister is near Hartford, etc. It's really fun. to talk to a family member on Skype, or better yet, a group of us who have a Zoom meeting, and then you can hear the clocks all chime on the hour at the same time in the background. There is something special that unites us all, even if we are far apart.
