This wave generator has 4 waveforms and 8 power levels. According to the manual, power level 1 is 850 gallons per hour (GPH). So if the shaft generator is set to random and power setting 2, the pump will toggle between 845 gph (lowest setting) and 1000 gph (second power setting) I think. I have a 45 gallon tank of mostly LPS. Always having this much flow is more than I would like. I think it would be more convenient if the lowest setting was closer to 200 gph like other pumps. I've emailed the manufacturer to see if I'm wrong in the instructions, but haven't received an answer yet. I believe you can also control this pump with a controller like the Neptune Apex and set the low level to around 20% which can solve this problem in small tanks. For large tanks or tanks dominated by SPS this is an excellent pump.
