I recently purchased this roof rack in preparation for a 1000 mile trip to Florida. It arrived in good condition and it didn't take long to figure out the direction and tie it to the roof of my car (I also bought a rubber mat to put between the trunk and the roof to protect the paintwork from scratches). .The trunk is quite spacious, I think about 7 suitcases of different sizes fit in it. And when buckled up tight, it didn't make much wind noise either (it took a bit of trial and error to figure out where/how to tuck some of the straps in to keep them from blowing in the wind and banging on the roof of the car. My main complaint concerns the front part of the wearer and how it closes.The zipper runs from a back corner up the side,through the front,then down the other side to the opposite back corner.And there is a flap that closes the zipper,with Velcro to hold the flap down and the zipper is weatherproof.But the front center flap has no Velcro so the wind coming off the roof of the car lifts the flap there exposing the zipper.This became a problem when we rode outside of Daytona Beach in heavy rain as the zipper couldn't keep out a lot of rain getting into the bag itself.i wouldn't go so far as to say the pockets were soaking wet on the inside, but they certainly were. Manufacturer of this product If I had placed a velcro or better yet a zip strap in the center front of this carrier I suspect that would have solved the leakage problem and made this a great product.
