I'm not a skier, but this winter I needed warm but thin socks to go with my boots. I'm allergic to wool and it's always itchy, but these don't itch at all! Very comfortable and thin, which I prefer, but also nice and warm for me in not very cold temperatures. They tolerate frosts down to 20 degrees well, but we haven't had really cold weather in Rhode Island this winter. Not much support or compression but a good sock that works when you need warm knee socks under your pants. They tumble dry ok but now I hang them up to dry after trying it on a couple. It didn't ruin them though and I may tumble dry them as they were a little loose to begin with. You go to bed, no problem.
