This is the second cable I have purchased for the Occulus Quest 2. Neither cable originally registered Occulus to my USB 3.0 ports, but 2.0 took over. The VIA USB Controller drivers automatically installed by Windows 10 were not compatible with Oculus. There are no updates to fix this issue. So I found the old VIA_XHCI_Driver_V4.40D_AP drivers for 64-bit Windows 7 and installed them as a fallback. Tadaaa! USB 3.0 now registers Oculus Quest 2! The cable works great and I can use Link indefinitely while charging. I couldn't find a solution on the internet and I suspect most people can't either. Most forums said get a new motherboard, cable, or PCI USB hub. No thank you. I hope this works for you too!
