Warm but not to the touch

My son is a size 5 and the slippers are 5-6 so I expected them to be a bit larger although they are very soft without leaving much space between the top of the foot and the opening so they are snug but slip easy off. They still have room to grow, they seem comfortable, but the floor is very slippery, he often slips and falls in, he thinks it's better to wear sticky socks, but they keep his feet warm.
