Mounted on an NMO mount on a 5ft x 5ft truck metal roof, this is the correct groundplane. The SWR was 2.5 or higher on the 2M and 440 UHF bands. The whip is too short. I replaced a similar but longer rod from another dual band 2m/440 ham band antenna. This is advertised as a ham radio antenna but it isn't or it should be pointed out that to be successful it is placed over a lousy ground plane. The black pin in the picture attached to the base caused an SWR below 1.7 on both bands with a good ground.
