Review on Lehigh PBTH πŸ”§ Spool Holder Handy Hook by John Caine

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very cheap, the cheapest item on my pegboard. I don't expect it to last.

The seller contacted me after delivery and asked if I was satisfied. I thought I was asked to write a review. Maybe that's appropriate. While they are not a bargain price, they are not expensive. And they are made as cheaply as possible. You will see in the listing that there are only two shaped "pins" on one end of the holder and it's up to you to bring them up or down. (Because I was holding the paper towels horizontally, I placed two pins on the bottom.) The photos in the listing show both sides, so there can't be a wrong way. Many reviews say the ends snap off when opened. I was very careful not to kink them and only opened them enough to insert a roll of paper with a plastic dowel (included) between these end brackets. The device is longer than the standard length of paper towels and may therefore be referred to as a "spool" holder rather than a paper towel roll holder. One place I use this is in my garage which can get below freezing in the winter. . Not sure if it will survive this kind of weather but time will tell and I'm more worried about it falling off the rail than the ends falling off. But I wouldn't be surprised if both happen. They deserve better. Update: I was looking at the second block I bought and it has the same number of plastic mounting pins on both long edges so I'll have to go back and take a look. on my previous install and see if I missed something in the rush to finish the install in a cold garage.
