I used this with a Wasserstein solar panel for a ring light camera. It came with no instructions. When I first put the mounting adapter on the back of the solar panel, it was very loose. I expected it to snap into place, but it didn't and it slipped off easily. I then tried spinning it and then putting it in and it felt better and more secure. Still not as tight as I would like, but good enough. The notch on the adapter should be closest to the arrow on the solar panel (see image). After that, the installation went smoothly. Time, wind and storm will tell how securely it actually holds the record.
