This is my first portable cooler and I will say that I was pleasantly surprised. Moreover, I am very pleased with the unit’s performance.Pros:First, I have been running the unit continuously for 5 days and power usage falls well within the acclaimed specifications for the two operating modes. My peak measurements with a 12v feed are: ECO mode, 2.58 amps/31 watts at compressor start; MAX mode, 4.5 amps/52 watts at compressor start with each mode settling below the manufacturer acclaimed operating values by several watts.Second, the unit cools items very quickly. I placed several bottles of room temperature water, which displaced about 1/3 of the larger bin area, into the unit and the temperature stabilized within 15 minutes. Thus, it handled a large thermal mass within a decent amount of time. The outside temperature was 75 degrees.Third, it really is very quite. The whisper fan and compressor combined are barely audible.Fourth, the panel lockout feature is nice in that it prevents unintended temperature or mode changes from items pressing against the control panel, inadvertently.Con:I’ve noticed the unit has a tendency to cycle with temperature variances as little as 2 degrees above the temperature setting or as high as 4 degrees above the temperature setting. It may be annoying but it’s very minor in comparison to the pros and is not a reason to not purchase this product.Lastly, the unit has an attractive appearance and fits nicely into small spaces.I highly recommend this unit for the price point and size. It’s well built and works as advertised.
