Small but deeper than you might guess from the photos.
The small surface was a plus for me, but the bowl is very deep. It was used for a small spider, so I put a rock on the bottom to be safe. me a piece of mind. PS our tap water is full of chemicals so I use Mt. Spring with no additives.
