I had no idea how they would work but ordered them anyway. Then I felt stupid because they are so simple. Pinch the rounded ends with your thumb and forefinger, which bends the coils and opens up the space. Place the end of the wire/rubber band in the gap, loosen the ends and the spool will close tightly on the end of your material. Manage your project without the beads slipping off and easily remove/replace the cork. They're lightweight, so you can place them at either end of a project without being heavy or uncomfortable. I used duct tape before finding them which was wasteful and painful to work with and left sticky marks on the wire. These clever little gadgets are worth every penny!
