A worthy replacement for my van

I bought this switch to replace the switch that no longer works in my van. Installation was easy enough, although the pre-punched holes were too big so I had to use adapters. One difference I noticed is that my old one had shore power as standard while this one had a generator as standard. I don't think it really matters, but I thought I'd mention it. Also, if the switch is connected to shore power and then the generator is started (after a time delay has elapsed), when power is transferred from shore to the generator, there should be a brief moment when both shore power and generator power are present are switched on and each time the circuit breakers on the generator and shore power are tripped. In real life I've never had a situation where I've started the generator when connected to shore power, but it happened to me during testing and then I tried again to be sure. I tried the reverse by starting the generator and then connecting it to shore power. Since the generator is used by default, it continues to consume generator power. If the generator is switched off, it easily switches to shore power. Another point worth paying attention to. Technically, you should turn off the air conditioners or other high power equipment when you start the generator. But in fact they sometimes stayed on when the power went out. I've found that if both AC's are left on and I start the generator, the relay will fail and repeatedly try to turn on when the switch tries to turn on the generator. If I turn off one (or both) of the air conditioners, the relay works normally and I can turn the air conditioners back on.
