Highly recommended under Tools & Equipment

Replaced a burnt plastic Iota ITS-5 with this PD52V and was a great product. (Solid steel body instead of plastic. Good quality. I already have a progressive dynamics converter and surge protector and have had no problems with any of their products.

Pros
  • Handsfree Kit
Cons

Exactly what it should be

Easy to install. Although I have electrical experience, if you can follow the simple instructions/diagrams you should be fine. It's plugged in and working as expected for about 6 weeks. I'll update over time, but so far so good. The metal box is definitely solid, unlike many others with a plastic body.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • old

Works perfectly. Use as a 50A 110 Switch OR 50A 220 Switch

Used as an auxiliary power switch in my Foretravel RV to switch between main power and inverter power. Be sure to read WHAT clamps to use if you use them for 110 volts like I did. You need to connect L2 (common) and L3 (hot). NOT L1 and L2. If you're using it as a 220 switcher, it doesn't matter. The instructions were there so read carefully.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons

Slightly damaged on arrival but works perfectly.

The relay frame was broken on arrival but it worked and not wanting to wait for a replacement I decided to keep it. The design is good. If you use an inverter instead of a generator, pay attention to the setting of the control board jumper in the instructions. The package did not include a cable release mechanism, but it was not mentioned in the description.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Minor issues

I fitted this switch to an old camper van as a replacement. This is a 50 amp service and the large wires went through two holes in the box and one of those holes had to be enlarged. The transfer switch worked great, installation was pretty easy. Progressive Dynamics is well known in the industry and I would recommend this derailleur to anyone in need of a replacement.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some flaws

Perfect replacement - slightly different size

It has a slightly different footprint than my original 50A ATS so I was worried it wouldn't fit. It's slightly taller and narrower than a regular ATS, but about the same size. I ended up dropping the outside screw tabs and using the screw holes on the inside for a little extra clearance in my tight electrical bay. Please note: there are NO cable clips included so make sure you can reuse your old ones or go to the hardware store to get new ones. I ended up using 3x1" - they were a different size

Pros
  • Tough heavy duty screw terminals ready to plug into contactor base
Cons
  • Requires socket

A worthy replacement for my van

I bought this switch to replace the switch that no longer works in my van. Installation was easy enough, although the pre-punched holes were too big so I had to use adapters. One difference I noticed is that my old one had shore power as standard while this one had a generator as standard. I don't think it really matters, but I thought I'd mention it. Also, if the switch is connected to shore power and then the generator is started (after a time delay has elapsed), when power is transferred…

Pros
  • One year limited warranty
Cons
  • Doubtful
