Review on ๐ŸŽต Victrola Pro Series USB Record Player: 2-Speed Turntable with Dust Cover - Silver (VPRO-2000-SLV) - Enhanced Listening Experience! by Steve Yang

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Reliable player but BT hit or miss

Overall, for me, this player offers key features that weren't offered in other models at a similar or higher price - tone arm balance, sync flash and native Bluetooth connectivity. Also needed a dust cover and the USB output was a nice plus. First the bad: the sync strobe runs (stays stationary) at 45 rpm but not at 33 rpm, so I'd say not as advertised. Bluetooth connectivity, as others have reported, is also extremely unreliable; Sometimes I connected both headphones and speakers with no problems, other times the behavior was completely erratic, the player says connected when not connected, can't find any devices etc. I suspect the problem is the cheap BT components in the player itself, not in the user. Error as suggested in other reviews. There is no auto-off or auto-return, but the player turns off after 5-10 minutes of no sound. On the other hand, the arm counterweight works great (I'm playing recordings from assignments that need extra weight) and the dust cover definitely does the trick. It's better to replace the needle with something better, but so far it's working fine. The player's feet have some vibration protection but don't appear to be height adjustable. Two things to note: you didn't have a suitable amp with the current setup, but you CAN listen to recordings through wired headphones using just the RCA to 3 input. The output cable is 0.5mm (or 1/4) diameter, just make sure the preamp switch is ON. There is no volume control with this solution, but I didn't need it either, as the sound is output at a good average level. Second, the slider on the right side of the device is ONLY for variable speed (pitch control), there is no volume control associated with this slider. Not a big deal since you'll still be using this amp 90% of the time, but it's worth mentioning. Overall for $150 I think this player is good value IF you absolutely don't need the advertised Bluetooth capabilities. Sometimes they work, but I suspect cheap components make the experience good or bad at best. That being said, I think the arm counterpoise, strobe sync (even if it's a poor imitation of more expensive implementations), pitch/speed control, and USB and preamp output give it good value for money compared to other products similar or a slightly higher price ($200) is also available from Revain. Things like the dust cover and arm lifter should go without saying at this price point and they worked well on this model.
